The reason that we made the trip down to Southern Indiana in the first place was to visit Huber Orchard & Winery. Phillip had been there when he worked for the Department of Agriculture, and he has been talking about making the trip back down ever since. They have a great selection of U-pick-it fruits & veggies, including grapes, blackberries, raspberries, apples, tomatoes & peppers. We picked apples, took a tour of the wine cellars, tasted a few wines, and visited the great market that they have. We left with the car loaded down with apples, wine and other goodies that we can't wait to try!

Go to a Cultural Festival
While we were in Southern Indiana/Louisville this weekend, I checked three tasks off in one day! Just outside of our hotel, Worldfest Louisville was taking place. Worldfest was a celebration of the diversity of Louisville, and it centers around a very large naturalization ceremony for new US citizens. We stopped by after dinner to grab a few snacks (sno cones & cotton candy!)

Make a Tiered Cake
This was my first tiered cake that I have ever made, and I'll have to say that it was just as hard to get right as I thought it would be. It turned out great, though, and the birthday girl loved it. I made the Dora and Boots faces out of gumpaste, and I was really happy with them. I will have to try stacking cakes again!
See An Exhibit At IMA
This Friday, Hannah & I made a rainy day visit to the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I can't believe that I had this museum within walking distance of my house and I had never been. We saw a special exhibit on florals in fashion, and it was great!
We then viewed the regular collection, which contained some wonderful pieces as well.

Visit a Zoo
Last Sunday, my lovely sister-in-law-to-be had a request. Let's go to the zoo! I was happy to oblige, and we dragged the guys along with us.
The requirement for the day that I had was that everyone choose their favorite animal and get a picture with it.
For me it was the flamingos:
Phillip was a big fan of this grizzly bear that was playing in the water:
Hannah was in love with this baby elephant:

Decide What My Favorite Song Is
We have a winner! I decided to go through my iTunes and find out what artist that I had the most songs by, and then decide on my favorite one. Why did I have so much trouble with this?! It was so easy once I thought about it. My favorite song ever is: "Sweet Baby James" by James Taylor. It reminds me of my childhood listening to James Taylor tapes in my mom's van. I've gone to a few James Taylor concerts over the years and this is always the song that I wait to hear. It's the best!

Play Frisbee with Matt
My friend Matt loves Frisbee. He breathes Frisbee. He spent the week in Rushville last week, and was so disappointed in my parents' Frisbee arsenal that he had to venture a trip to the local Walmart to get a new one. He always tries to get me to play with him, but because of my apparent lack of catching ability, I generally avoid it.
To prove I played this week with Matt:

Can Something
This morning I got together with some of the other Morgan women to make strawberry jam. It was my first time canning, and it really wasn't that hard. We ended up making both jam and strawberry topping for ice cream, cheesecake, etc. I can't wait to make some fresh rolls to spread this yummy jam on!
We did have a strawberry bandit, though:

Go to a Farmer's Market
This weekend was all about relaxing with Phillip and cruising around our neighborhood. We made our way over the the Broadripple Farmer's Market with LuLu. There were tons of dogs there, she was a little overwhelmed. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of produce that was available for it being so early in the season. We got strawberries, shitake mushrooms and green onions. I'm hoping to get farm fresh eggs and honey on our next trip.

Plant a Veggie Garden
Look at my new raised beds that Phillip & Scott made for me! They made them for me yesterday afternoon, and I couldn't stop myself from planting in them last night. I used (aka: sent the link to Phillip) this tutorial from my favorite blogger to make the raised beds. I planted herbs (basil, oregano, chives, dill & parsley), radishes, butter lettuce, red lettuce, broccoli, green peppers, yellow squash, green beans, onions and tomatoes. I can't wait for my first harvest!

Go Skiing
Last Thursday, a group of us from the dental school used a random day off to take a caravan down to Perfect North Slopes. Seventeen of us hit the slopes, including a few people who had never been skiing/snowboarding before. I had a great time skiing with a different group of people, it was the perfect way to spend our free day!

Jump Off Of A Cliff
Yes, that's me, jumping off of a cliff. Yes, into water. What did you think I was going to do? This was a few weeks ago in Mexico, but I just got the proof (I knew you wouldn't just believe me on this one!). Why am I wearing a wetsuit? Because the wetsuit is the greatest piece of clothing ever made. It is like wearing full-body Spanx. Everything looks great!

Paint Pottery
Hola from Mexico! A few days ago, Hannah & I decided to make a trip down to the hotel next to us to take in a little "authentic mexican culture" (okay, so it isn't authentic at all, but it's fun!). All around Mexico, hotels have pottery painting stations set up. Generally, you just fill in the lines that are pre-drawn on the pottery, and the artist "fixes" your work, by adding outlines and details. This is what we were expecting, but when we got out pieces back, they looked just the same as they did when we left them. I guess the artist thought that we had done such beautiful work that it didn't need fixed!
